Paul has been practicing juvenile and criminal law for over 19 years. Over his 19 years of practice, Paul has worked as a criminal defense attorney with a solo practice, focusing on criminal and juvenile law. He would later close his practice and join the Galveston County District Attorney’s office where he worked his way to Chief Prosecutor. Paul has the knowledge and experience to oversee any type of juvenile, misdemeanor, or felony case. He has handled juvenile capital murder certifications, sexual assaults, aggravated assaults, aggravated robberies, murders, and capital murder cases. Paul has successfully tried hundreds of serious cases to a jury in different counties throughout the state. He has also been instrumental with training and mentoring other lawyers in effective winning jury trial skills and zealous advocacy.
Paul has a very intricate understanding of how the criminal justice system works from start to finish. Not only from his work as a criminal defense attorney, but from years of working within the District Attorney’s office. As Chief Prosecutor, Paul supervised the Misdemeanor and Juvenile Divisions, supervised the Grand Jury Division and was Chief Prosecutor in several felony courts.
Paul was often called out to homicide scenes to assist and advise officers and detectives working the crime scene. Therefore, Paul has the confidence, ability, and knowledge to defend any criminal case you may face. You can also find comfort knowing your case is being handled with care and experience.
Paul is a native Houstonian. He graduated from Texas Southern University with a B.A. in Social Work, obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston, and earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, IA.
