Chase has been engaged in the criminal justice field for over a decade, across many different disciplines. He began as a probation officer in Nueces County, Texas before moving back to the Houston area where he worked as a probation officer, and later court liaison officer, in Galveston County, Texas. While attending law school, he proudly joined the United States Navy Reserve as an Officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Following his service, he was Honorably Discharged and was able to quickly transition into the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. During his time at the District Attorney’s Office, he handled both misdemeanor and felony cases, and was responsible for presenting cases to the grand jury, handling motions and hearings, reviewing legal theories and principles, plea negotiations, as well as pre-trial conferences and jury trials.
Chase earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in Houston, Texas. Before law school, he received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Chase was a member of the sailing team, while attending undergraduate, and mentors’ mock trial at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He is an avid runner, outdoorsman, gun owner, and a native Texan.
