Law Enforcement Results
- Promoted – LEO Client was up for sergeant promotion. Walker & Taylor successfully defended LEO Client’s exam responses before the Commission, which allowed the client to receive enough points to get PROMOTED!
- Improper Investigation – LEO Client was terminated for allegedly failing to improperly investigate a criminal offense. As a result, LEO Client was given a General Discharge on F-5. Upon a successful appeal by Walker & Taylor, the Administrative Law Judge ordered LEO Client’s F-5 to be amended to reflect an HONORABLE DISCHARGE!
- Use of Force – LEO Client was under an internal affairs (“IA”) investigation for an alleged use of force policy violation. After a successful defense by Walker & Taylor, the allegation was NOT SUSTAINED, and the investigation was closed!
- Disregarding Orders – LEO Client was terminated for allegedly refusing to follow instructions and willful disregard of orders. As a result, LEO Client was given a General Discharge on F-5. After successful negotiation with the Chief of Police by Walker & Taylor, the Chief agreed to amend LEO Client’s F-5 to reflect an HONORABLE DISCHARGE!
- CPS Investigation – LEO Client resigned due to an open CPS investigation and was given a General Discharge on F-5. Upon a successful appeal by Walker & Taylor, the Administrative Law Judge ordered the LEO Client’s F-5 to be amended to reflect HONORABLE DISCHARGE!
- Disparaging on Social Media – LEO Client was under internal affairs (“IA”) investigation and facing termination for alleged acts unbecoming and disparaging social media comments against the city. After Walker & Taylor responded to the allegations, LEO Client was NOT TERMINATED!
- Policy Violations – LEO Client was facing termination for alleged continuous policy violations. With Walker & Taylor, LEO Client negotiated an agreement with the Chief to allow LEO Client to resign with an HONORABLE DISCHARGE!
- Unfounded Allegations – LEO Client was under investigation for using her position as a police officer to serve civil process and improper police conduct – inappropriate intimidation. After a month-long investigation, we assisted the Client in preparing an Internal Affairs (“IA”) statement and presenting evidence. After completing the investigation and reviewing our prepared statement, the Chief of Police determined the allegations were UNFOUNDED.
- Alleged Stealing Overtime – Leo Client was investigated for improper behavior, unprofessional conduct to administration and staff, and stealing overtime pay. After review of hundreds of pages of evidence (witness statements, overtime sheets, etc.), hours of body-worn camera evidence. We assisted the Client in preparing a detailed Internal Affairs (“IA”) statement to address all the allegations. After several months of investigation and reviewing our statement, the commission voted the allegations NOT SUSTAINED.
- General Discharge After Contract Expired – LEO Client was Chief of Police for a College. Client was reassigned after an investigation determined Client made an inappropriate comment to another officer. After the Client’s contract ended with the College, Client received a General Discharge. Client hired us to represent him in the F5 Appeal. The Administrative Law Judge entered a Default Judgment against the College. As a result, the Client was upgraded to HONORABLE DISCHARGE!
